International Team Finish 3rd in BIIBC International Series

Irelands International Team Finished 3rd at the BIIBC International Series held in Belfast Indoor Bowls Club in March. The opening game of the series was against Scotland. They went into this game with high expectation of success. Despite a good start Scotland managed a narrow 12 shot win (111 – 99).

The second game was against a very strong England team. Again Ireland started strongly again but were not able to sustain their start and England won comfortably by 47 shots (137 – 90)

This left the final game with Wales a fight to avoid the wooden spoon. The game was a great advert for international bowls and in a nail-biting finish ended in a draw 110 sots each. This enabled Ireland to claim 3rd place on shot difference.

The series was won by England who defeated Scotland in a tense last game by 6 shots (118 – 112)
